Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author, and manga artist. He is one of Japan's most famous animation directors. The entertaining plots, compelling characters, and breathtaking animation in his films is what he is known for. Through a career that has spanned five decades, Miyazaki has attained international acclaim as a masterful storyteller and as a maker of anime feature films. He created some of the most successful films in the history of Japan: such as Castle in The Sky, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, The Cat Returns, Princess Mononoke, Ponyo and Kiki's Delivery Service. He also along with Isao Takahata, co-founded Studio Ghibli, a film and animation studio. Miyazaki has been described as combining elements of Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg.
